Craftsmanship
Preparation is most of the job
Anybody can roll a wall. The reason a finish still looks right in year seven is what happened underneath it: clean surfaces, flat repairs, the right primer in the right places, and coats that were given time to dry.
Clean
Dust, grease and hand oils removed before anything else.
Repair
Cracks opened, taped and feathered wide so they disappear.
Prime
Spot priming on patches, stains, bare wood and glossy trim.
Finish
The number of coats the product calls for, not the number that saves time.
